RE: Sports Teams' Music Videos

Well, I'll be...

Apparently these sorts of vids are becoming all the rage over at deadspin.com.

If none of you have been over there, it really is a pretty sweet source of humorous (mostly) sports-related miscellany.

As far as what that game is, the only thing I can find is this.

If you look at the bottom, at the game "Colors," that might be it. But I've definitely never played any game like that. And I was collecting the shizz out of baseball cards in '86. Maybe it was an East Coast thang.

Yeah, those songs are all really long. But if you're trying to feature 20+ meatheads in one video, I guess it takes time.

Seriously: that "Ram It" song is just really the greatest thing ever.

Holy crap Wock! Mookie, Straw, Mitchell.....all my favorite drug dealers of the 80's. Where can I get those trading cards?

Wait... there was a game you could play with baseball cards? I always thought they were just for collecting/trading with your friends. Do any of you cats know what the hell that game was?

Also, pretty gay stuff. Though I think in some of the cases it was maybe more straight sexual innuendo.

Yes, ram it.

Edit: We've got the teamwork/to make the dream work.
Bust a Bucket (with Dan Reed! Never knew that back in the day) is still pretty classic as well. But why are these songs so damn long? Excepting "BaB" the examples we've seen here are all 4+ minutes. Was 80s music all long-winded like that & I just don't remember?

Forget undertones - these are the gayest things I've ever seen. I can't believe that Rams one is real.

This is one of my faves, but pales in comparison to those two, as it doesn't feature the team on lead vocals:

Am I the only one seeing the gay undertones of these? I mean seriously "Ram It" and "Locker Room Rock." I thought these episode names for the serious Queer As Folk?

I almost put this in the music section, but then thought better of it. Calling it music would be very kind.
