Don't know if you dudes watch Breaking Bad, but Odenkirk played a greasy lawyer this season and was awesome. And if you're not watching that show anyway, you should be.
I love life sometimes. Most of the time it is a cruel, awful beast. But every once in a while it throws a meager scrap to keep you going. God bless Bob Odenkirk.
Yeah, I agree with your assessment of "Let's Go To Prison." It seems that a lot of the new comedies have that same situation, where they just can't decide which way to go. Is it R? Is it PG? Is it a kids' movie? Is it an adults' movie (non-porn style)? Recent comedies, more than any other genre, have really suffered from that "all things to all people" syndrome, which really just leaves them sucking. What the hey is wrong with making an R rated comedy? I don't understand why people are so afraid of it. If I see that a comedy is PG-13 I can almost guarantee myself that it will not be hilarious. Like "Dirty Work" was awesome, but imagine how much better it would be if it was R. Sigh.
Don't get me wrong, Let's Go To Prison was funny. It just one of those movies where they can't decide if they want it to be a full on super dark comedy or just a straight up fish out of water situation. I would've liked to have seen them get off the fence.
I actually really liked that movie. It wasn't gold or anything but I certainly got a sufficient number of laughs in. I really dug all of that stuff with him on Super Deluxe. I wish he himself was in more of the stuff though. I could watch him all day. Everything he says and does is funny to me.
