Datdj- Welcome to the board. While I understand the point you are trying to make, I think one has to draw the line. You make a great point about DJ Wicked. While DJ Wicked is widely known throughout Portland, he is not known in other areas of the country. So it is understandable that another guy might have that name. But if someone decides to go by the name DJ Clue, then they are just stupid. I mean, I wouldn't name my band Led Zepplin, right? You should not be allowed to put out a rap CD if you don't know who Willie D. is. At the very least you should know who B-Real is. He was on the Simpsons for chrissakes. Would you respect a rock band if the singer was like "my name is Mick Jagger?" No. But I would except Mick Jagoff. That is the point we are making.

What I find odd is that either noone tells these guys that they named themselves after famous rappers, or noone they hang out with knows. Either scenario is pretty embarrassing. I don't listen to the blues but I know who B.B. King is. As for your comments about the title being "self expression," I didn't really get that.
