What he needs is a half hour Comedy Central show where he just makes fun of people. That is his true gift. I don't foresee a game show being the proper place for his talents. "He was worse than Theisman" made me laugh for awhile, by the by.
BTW, I felt really dirty seeing "The O'Reilly Factor" on my DVR.
Well, here's the thing. Dennis Miller has always enjoyed getting paid. Anyone who remembers his ads for 10-10-220, M&M's, or NetZero can tell you that. So, I'm trying to tell myself that he's pandering to the right a bit in hopes to remain on the air is some form or another. He used to have that show on MSNBC (I think?) and it was more of a round table discussion than him finger pointing. But he still made his views known, albeit in a more intelligent and balanced format. Of course, that got canceled. Along with his gig at Monday Night Football and his HBO show before that. So now, he's doing conservative talk radio and The O'Reilly Factor once a week or something.
If you're talking only about that segment where he was talking about Paris Hilton, yes, that was embarrassing.
He's always been conservative about some things. He's always been pro death penalty and since 9/11, he's backed the president in the war (but not in other things). He's still pro-choice, he's still not against gay marriage, etc. But he doesn't say that stuff a lot on Fox News. So I know it's easy to write him off as a douchebag, but he hasn't completely turned. I saw him go on Hannity & Colmes live at a state fair (seriously) and he spent most of his time clowning the crowd for being there while simultaneously berating both of the hosts. He's still got some moves, he just doesn't pull 'em out as often.
I don't even care about that much about his political views. I'm more pissed that his last two stand up specials weren't very funny. That's his biggest crime in my book.
Flippin the channels tonight and caught Dennis on the Bill O'Reilly show talking ever so smugly about Paris Hilton. How does one go from so super cool to so incredibly lame without finding Jesus? What a rube.
