RE: Hockey Is Finally Back

Yeah I went a'searchin' on the intertubes and found a story about the leukemia.

And how about that 25 game game suspension for the cross check Bowl-of-Rice threw down on Kesler. That was intense.

He's not a basketball player dude! Or NFL player for that matter, otherwise he'd be out shooting, raping, etc. Blake doesn't want to be thought of as some sort of wuss. I'm not really sure that the people of Toronto would really let him take a night off. I mean they are an original six, not to mention a Canadian team! It's not like it's the CFL.

Dude, nice one. EA- He has some weird rare form of leukemia. But apparently he can still play and just take pills for it. Hockey players are gnarly. If I had leukemia I think I might take a night off. But that's just me.

Yeah, you're right Biff, I was totally off. Instead of cancel one career, it should be "cancer" one career...heyyyyyooooo!

You are a cold, cold man. Apparently he is going to keep playing. Poor Blake. He's a stallion. Even if he is a Leaf.

Dude, did anyone else hear the news about Jason Blake? Cancel one career. But I guess that's what you get for playing for the Leaf's.

EA- Yeah, those are all of the newer expansion teams. I don't mind the Blue Jackets' name because it is kind of old school sounding. My least favorite is the Nashville Predators. Everything about that name is wrong. If there is no crying in baseball then there should be no hockey in Nashville.

Dold- If you look at it again I didn't pick the Oil for dead last. Just 13th place. I never said they were worse than the Yotes. As far as the NW Division I will be shocked if they can place any higher than 5th. Unless the Flames implode due to Keenan it just won't happen. Speaking of the Oil, who are they to send Smid back to the AHL? How in the heck did they pick Matt "my second home is the bad penalty box" Greene over ol' Laddy? Did Carter make the team? Because that will be awesome. As for Gomez and Drury I totally agree. I have no beef with Drury. His hit in the Olympics combined with the fact that he won the Little League World Series has cemented his stallion status. Gomez is a different story as he is kind of douchy. And its kind of a douche move to play with one team for almost a decade and then sign with their MAIN rival. Devils fans, I'm sure, can't wait to hate him. And for that matter Rangers fans must feel a little awkward. I mean, would Sens fans be stoked if Tucker was on their team? I doubt it. Maybe Shanny can undouche him. You might have to bust out your Rangers gear this season because they are loaded.

Nice to see you on the boards.

Where did all those teams with dumb names come from? The Minnesota Wild? The Columbus Blue Jackets? Atlanta Thrashers? And did Calgary used to have a team that was named something other than the Flames?

At any rate, let's see you run down scores every week. :)

Biff how dare you place the Oilers in dead ****ing last at the end of the year! Need I remind you of the history (Im pretty sure thats what you majored in Mr.Bush) or the fact that they now have Carter (your wifes pretend hockey boyfriend) back? Not to mention that they went the entire preseason winning 5 out of 7 games. So before you right them off remember two important things; A. Emo was just named the 12th captain in Oilers history B. They still have Raffi.
I do however have to cut you some slack as you did choose the Rangers (the 2nd best team in the NHL) to win it all. With all the sweet acquisitions made over the summer, and the existing stallion trifecta of Jags, Avery, and Shanny, they should totally do win it all.if they can stay healthy- the old guys anyway. Ive always been so so about Gomez, but I think its hilarious that he basically is now playing right across the river from his old boring ass team, and I hope he makes them pay. I sort of feel the same about Drury, who is playing in pretty much the same geographical spot, but for a different team. But after seeing what a stallion he was last year in the playoffs (and lets not forget his legendary hit in the Olympics a few years back), Im convinced that with these two, the Rangers could be pretty unstoppable this season.
Dean Mcammond.cancel one career.

The NHL season kind of begins tomorrow. Sure, it technically started this weekend but everyone else starts Wednesday, and before the season starts I wanted to make my ham-fisted predictions for what promises to be an exciting year in hockey. While making my notes I realised just how evenly matched most of the teams seem to be. Sure, there are a few obvious front runners, but even they are one or two injuries away from fighting for a playoff spot. The only choice that I feel completely confident about is choosing the 'Yotes and the Blue Jackets to once again battle it out for last place and the first draft pick for next season. They both finished at the bottom last year and made only minimal changes to their roster over the summer. The Blues and the Panthers are my dark horse choices for their respective conferences as I think they will surprise a lot of teams. The Panthers have a strong young team and acquired a great goaltender in Vokoun. The Blues got rid of some dead weight, got some great talent in return and will overachieve their way into a strong finish. I will break down my divisional choices and then my conference choices and then finally my Cup choice. Remember that the top finishers in each division are guaranteed the top three playoff spots and that only the top eight teams from each conference get in to the playoffs. Hockey is back.
