It would be amazing if someone who had anything to do with the wu stumbled among our blaberings they could get some pretty good advice for free from us die hards

If anyone can find a video of Method Man on RapCity talking about that stuff, I'd really like to see it...

I'm not having any luck.

That is a great point Stunna. Some of them did go a little bling crazy for a while. Ghost's eagle anyone? But the main complaint seems to be with Rza as he (or whomever he hired) apparently manages the money for the Wu-Tang Clan. I mean if Cappadonna only ever was paid once from his own solo album then that is ludicrous. I'm sure that guys like Cappa and U-God are/were under some management/production deal with Rza. The main beef seems to be how money is paid out after concerts and whole group albums. That is why the guys prefer their solo albums/tours. There is little monetary benefit for most of them anymore for doing group shows/albums. I would imagine that only Cappa, Deck, U-God and Masta Killa on a smaller scale still really need Clan revenue to be okay. You know that Meth, Ghost, Rae, Gza, and Rza should be doing just fine. Key word being "should." Hence the bitterness. If Ghost can get paid $10,000 a show on his own why would he want to make $1200 for a group appearance. But that is just my take. I of course prefer the whole group to the individual efforts but those glory days are long gone.

Part of me wants to blame rza but then again maybe these guys need some basic math skills. Rza has been the only person consistent enough and with some acclaim in the last few. If not for him the wu could just be another bbd or something. This is not to say the other members havnt put anything good out but I`m sorry, if you have two kids and a mortgage maybe the 24 karat gold diamond encrusted arm bands could have waited till retirement?

I think the Wu may finally be falling apart. When Meth starts to go they all go. It is too bad but it seems as if Rza may not be the best money manager. Does that surprise anyone?

I happen to watching rap city today and the guest was method man. I`m glad he has finally spoken about the 8 diagram album. He said that Him and a few other members knew the album was bad and had a lot of reservations about putting it out. He also addressed the money issue surrounding so many of the members. He said something to the fact of the "powers that be," have  seen to it that U, Ghost and Rae have gotten F`d in the A. His new album, "The Crystal Method," is slated for later in the month.

New Cube. A little heavy handed, but I like it.

u knw maybe yourright in that rza is just thinkin way outside hip hop which is sad I thiink his bretheren have left him holdn his dik too many times. Also yes with john da baptist  and mathmatics on the board rae and ghost could give us real fans a thank you for what is going on a decade of sub par music. The production which for the last few years from rza was as least diffrent. The production was horrific. Not enough u and masta killa on the album though.

I am still forming my opinions on "8 Diagrams," and will post those in the other Wu-Tang thread, although I will say that it is not their best effort. I agree with you Stunna that Ghost and Rae come off well on the album. I will actually go a step further and say that all of the members brought suitable efforts. My gripe is with the music. That is where I disagree with your assessment that Rae, Ghost and Rza could produce a good album. How about Rae, Ghost, Cappa and Mathematics. Now that is an album that I would kill for. Rza has been proving to me for the last 5 or 6 years that he is done. His raps, by and large, have sucked over the last few years (with exception to a few songs on "Birth of a Prince") and his production has been suspect at best. He is trying way too hard to be Andre 3000 or whatever he thinks that people like Quentin Tarantino think he is. He is way too full of himself and does not possess the musical skill to back up his grandiose image of himself. I think I actually agree with Raekwon in thinking that Rza has lost his mind.

And "Stick Me For My Riches" is waaaay worse then "Get Em Out My Way Pa." Which also sucks.

8 diagrams is fooking horrable. Move em out your way pa is worse than anything ive ever herd all the beats are either from prevous wu albums or biten off other people. the george clinton song is ok. No originality at all and i actually went to fukin target and paid for this piece of trash. Surprisingly the standout  is quickly becoming my fav again Ghost who suppodisly was late with his tracks and dare I say it raekwon. The only thing that coud save my faith in the wu right now is if rza, ghost and rae hole up in a basement with an ounce of coke and give me the blood on chefs apron which was promised on wu- forever. And I`m so glad I diddnt go to the new years eve show. Its entierity on u tube they played for 35 min and it suck ed. And yes through the years tical has always been in heavy rotation in my zune.furious

I would like to argue with you, just because it would make it more interesting, but I have to agree. 8 Diagrams sealed the deal for me. He has become, considering the length of his career and his prolific output, the most consistent MC in all of rap. And the best.

My top five, and I'm assuming this is more "current" rappers (which is why I'll leave Big Daddy Kane off the list), goes like this:

1. Method Man
2. Eminem
3. Ice Cube (he's still got it)
4. Andre 3000
5. Ghostface Killah

That's off the top of my head.

Bog Boi? He from Da Dirty Souf?

I am finally man enough to admit it. Being a Wu fanatic, I always tried to like a random member more. And while the Ticallion Stallion can never seem to put together an a completely awesome album he is, by and large, rhyme per rhyme, the greatest rapper alive. Every rap he has, especially when he is rapping alongside other rappers, proves that he is the greatest. Right now, for me, it looks like this:

1. Method Man
2. Bog Boi
3. Ghostface Killah
4. John Smith
5. MJG

Argue away...
